Workshop Description:
Have you had students scribbling in their notebooks during class only to find that they are not taking notes but doodling? Do you know there are surprising benefits to doodling? Join Chrissy Romano-Arrabito for this hands-on, interactive workshop as she shares the benefits of sketch noting in the classroom. She will discuss how to introduce the concept of visual notetaking to your students, how to get started with sketch noting, and creative ways to infuse sketch noting in the K-12 classroom. Participants will also walk away with a set of resources that can be modified for use in any grade level or subject area.

    Participants will need access to an internet device and a non-school, personal Google account. SimpleK12’s Google Classroom will be utilized for the interactive and hands-on components of this workshop.

    Assessment:
    Participants will have collaboration and sharing opportunities throughout the workshop to demonstrate their understanding of the workshop objectives and reflect on their learning.

    Of course loved these ideas! I am a Visual Arts Teacher and this perfect for my classes. Students are exhibiting poor writing skills and some of these ideas will help with that because there are also thinking skills and organization skills that will be used to do this!. Thank you so much!

    I use sketch noting in my classroom for art tools and techniques and I love it! I would like to start using the best sketch notes for vocab as posters in the classroom. This could be a great motivator as well for any class.
