Promoting Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Skills: Helping Your Students Succeed
Overview
A child who develops good Social and Emotional Learning Skills (SEL) is more likely to better manage emotions, make responsible decisions, and be more successful in school and in life. But are you doing all you can to help your students cultivate these skills? In part 3 of this 4-part series, join Paul LeBuffe, as he shares how to best promote SEL skills - in and out of school - via direct instruction. He will discuss the importance of good SEL curricula and provide strategies you can use to improve attitudes, reduce emotional stress, decrease negative behaviors, and promote prosocial behaviors. Paul will also introduce the Devereux Student Strengths Assessment (DESSA) strategies for intervention and integration across curriculum and the school day. NOTE: While this webinar may be viewed as a stand-alone webinar, additional helpful information may be found in the 3 related webinars: Introduction to the "Whole Child" Initiative and Social Emotional Learning, Evaluating Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Skills, and School Wide Approaches to Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)
