This is workshop two of three for the series titled “How to Use Gamification to Motivate and Engage Your Students.”

NOTE: While we recommend that you attend all sessions of the workshop series to meet the learning objectives, each workshop can be attended as a standalone. Full members will also have access to view the recordings on-demand and earn up to three continuing education credits.

Workshop Description:

If you are looking to gamify your classroom, the first step is to employ the elements of game design that will engage and motivate your students. Join Lauren Boucher for this hands-on, interactive workshop as she shares how you can shift parts of your classroom instruction, activities, or both, into a fun game that your students will be excited to play! Participants will also receive a ready-made planning template that they can use to bring gamification into their classroom and tips and tricks to level up their classroom culture.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain how to use a ready-made planning template to bring gamification into the classroom and build a positive classroom culture.

  • Special Technology Instructions:

Participants will need access to an internet device, a non-school, personal Google account. SimpleK12’s Google Classroom will be utilized for the interactive and hands-on components of this workshop.

    Assessment:

Participants will have collaboration and sharing opportunities throughout the workshop to demonstrate their understanding of the workshop objectives and reflect on their learning.
