Overview

Workshop Description:
Today’s classrooms are increasing in diversity and require teachers to understand how to become more culturally responsive. As the number of multilingual, ESL, or ELL students in our classrooms continues to increase, we realize that supporting culturally and linguistically diverse learners begins with all of us. Join Matt Bergman for this interactive, hands-on workshop as he models a variety of strategies and tools for working with our linguistically diverse students. Participants will also walk away with a Google Doc filled with templates, links, and resources that they can immediately use in the classroom.

Learning Objectives:
  • Discover seven different strategies and tools for supporting culturally and linguistically diverse learners in the classroom.

  • Special Technology Instructions: Participants will need access to an internet device and a non-school, personal Google account. SimpleK12’s Google Classroom will be utilized for the interactive and hands-on components of this workshop.

Assessment: Participants will complete several informal assessments and interactive activities to demonstrate their understanding of the workshop objectives and reflect on their learning.

AWESOME, Mr. Bergman….. A real businessman approach that use a spread sheet idea to merge information about scholars that can close the gap in understanding among educators and/or scholars holistically. Positive transformational model of teaching can reprogram an unorganized into an organized and in the long term make the class, school community, neighborhood, region, world a better and more communicative place in which to live because good would had been multiplied that many times over.
