Workshop Description:
While teachers of early learners undoubtedly have an impressive supply of games, stories, crafts, and activities in their toolbox, sometimes we need a little inspiration to keep students interested, entertained, and ready to learn.
Join Dr. Smantha Fecich as she takes you on a guided tour of her favorite top-rated, seriously fun websites that offer engaging, well-scaffolded experiences to support early learners. She will share best practices for using these web tools effectively in the classroom, as well as lesson ideas to help build solid foundations in reading, math, social studies, and science.

Explore top-rated teaching and learning websites and discuss how to best utilize them in the classroom to support early learners.
Describe best practices for using these web tools effectively in the classroom to support early learners.
Create a lesson for early learners using digital tools that will help build a solid foundation in reading, math, social studies, or science.
Special Technology Instructions: Participants will need access to an internet device and a non-school, personal Google account. SimpleK12’s Google Classroom will be utilized for the interactive and hands-on components of this workshop.
Assessment: Participants will be assessed through their responses to discussion prompts to demonstrate their understanding of the workshop objectives and reflect on their learning.
