The School-Home Connection for Students with Exceptionalities: Encouraging Parents to Join the Team

Session Description:
Positive connections between parents and teachers have been shown to improve students' academic achievement, social competencies, and emotional well-being. However, encouraging parents to join the team can sometimes be a challenging process. Join Melissa Mann as she shares strategies for building relationships with parents of students with exceptionalities. You will also walk away with ideas and resources to help students achieve progress both at school and at home.

Identify strategies for building relationships with parents of students with exceptionalities that will help students achieve progress both at school and at home.

Assessment: Participants will participate in a Google Jamboard activity to demonstrate their understanding of the session objective and reflect on their learning.
