NOTE: While we recommend that you attend all sessions of the workshop series to meet the learning objectives, each workshop can be attended as a standalone. Full members will also have access to view the recordings on-demand and earn up to six continuing education credits.
Workshop Description:
Effective teachers have several things in common: content knowledge, instructional strategies, classroom management, and planning! Join Dr. Samantha Fecich as she discusses how beginning teachers can reinforce these skills and build a foundation to become educational leaders and learners. Participants will also have an opportunity to access done-for-you templates and resources to develop professional goals and classroom procedures that will set the stage for academic success.
Learning Objectives:
Explain how effective teaching is related to planning and preparation before the school year begins.
Develop professional goals for the upcoming school year that builds a foundation to become an educational leader and learner.
Organize a list of classroom procedures that will set the stage for academic success.
Special technology instructions: Participants will need access to an internet device and a non-school, personal Google account. SimpleK12’s Google Classroom will be utilized for the interactive and hands-on components of this workshop.
Assessment: Participants will use the templates and resources provided to set professional goals and develop classroom procedures for the upcoming school year to demonstrate their understanding of the workshop objectives and reflect on their learning.
