Overview

Session Description:
Every employee has the right to a safe work environment that is free from harassment and every employer has the responsibility to make this a reality. Harassment training does have a cost, but these costs are micro when compared with the liabilities organizations face if training is neglected. Join Dr. Courtney Teague as she shares the definition of harassment and how to identify the most common types of harassing behaviors that occur in the workplace. You will also learn a variety of strategies for preventing workplace harassment that will create a respectful, productive environment based on mutual trust and understanding.

Learning Objectives:
  • Explain the legal definition of harassment and interpret laws related to workplace harassment.

  • Identify the most common types of harassing behaviors that occur in the workplace.

  • Describe how to mitigate the liabilities and expenses related to workplace harassment.

  • Compile strategies for preventing workplace harassment that will foster a respectful and productive environment.

  • Assessment: Participants will complete an exit ticket to demonstrate their understanding of the session objectives and reflect on their learning.
