Workshop Description:
Whether you are a teacher or student, Canva for Education is a free tool that makes it easy to create, collaborate, and communicate visually in the classroom and beyond. Join Dr. Samantha Fecich for this hands-on, make-and-take workshop as we explore the interactive features of Canva for Education, including how to design engaging presentations, worksheets, infographics, and more! Participants will also have an opportunity to design their own content-specific resource that they can immediately use with their students.

Learning Objectives:

Understand the benefits of using Canva for Education in the classroom.

Set up a free Canva for Education account and experiment with its interactive features.

Explain how Canva for Education can be used with other digital tools such as TeacherMade and Google Jamboard.

Use Canva for Education to design a content-specific resource that increases student engagement and fosters communications skills.

Special Technology Instructions: Participants will need access to an internet device and a non-school, personal Google account. SimpleK12’s Google Classroom will be utilized for the interactive and hands-on components of this workshop.

Assessment: Participants will share the resources they designed using Canva for Education to demonstrate their understanding of the workshop objectives and reflect on their learning.
