How to Teach Like a Park Ranger
This is session one of six for the series titled The Ultimate Tips - Tricks and Technology Teaching Hacks! Use technology to create, adapt and personalize learning experiences that foster independent learning and accommodate learner differences and needs.
NOTE: While we recommend that you attend all sessions of the workshop series to meet the learning objectives, each workshop can be attended as a standalone. Full members will also have access to view the recordings on-demand and earn up to six continuing education credits.
Let's put on a new educational designer hat and learn how to teach like a park ranger! Join Naomi Harm as she models four innovative instructional strategies that will transform your teaching to meet your students where they are and actively engage them in their learning. Participants will also have an opportunity to create their own personalized learning experience that they can immediately use with their students.
Explore and apply instructional design principles to create innovative digital learning environments that engage and support learning.
Special technology instructions: Participants will need access to an internet device and a non-school, personal Google account. SimpleK12’s Google Classroom will be utilized for the interactive and hands-on components of this workshop.
Assessment: Participants will complete an inclusive opening and an optimistic closing activity as well as share their completed digital projects to demonstrate their understanding of the workshop objectives and reflect on their learning.
