You can include the word "transparent" with your search for images to narrow it down to those that have transparent backgrounds. It's quicker than removing the background, and saves the steps (especially if you want the students to put stuff like that in). I use a lot, but one less thing I have to do is always welcome!

I find that this has more than just applications to science and math and is a great substitute to paper products.
