Overview

Student motivation can be tricky even in face to face situations, but it can be even more so when instruction and learning is being delivered in a blended or fully virtual environment. In this session, Lauren Boucher explains how using digital badging with Canvas and Badgr can increase motivation, engagement, and participation. Teachers will learn how to create badges using Google Drawings, as well as how to manually or automagically assign badges to students.

Lauren gave me a much better understanding if badges in Canvas.

This looks like a great idea to motivate students. I just need my district to get the shared key code.

Thanks for the tip on moving one pixel at a time by holding shift and down arrow (at minute 13)! I love the automation of the badges on Badgr! Did you that Badgr is now linked with Microsoft Team?! Good to know that Ss can dl their badges and take with them once they graduate.

Thank you

I can't wait to implement this in class. I have been searching for a way to move away from the traditional grading system, and this seems to be it!
