Overview

Building a school or classroom Community that promotes positive attributes such as helpfulness, inclusiveness, and responsibility contributes to student success, better behavior, and more. Our classes are microcosms of the school. As educators, if we want to create a climate and culture that ensures we are working toward the goal of growing empathetic citizens, we need to explicitly work on the social domain Join Justin Schleider as he showcases research on the benefits of Community building and explores how you can build Community in your own classes. He will also share a variety of activities that will work in the gymnasium as well as in the classroom. You will walk away with a variety of activities and research that will help you become a better teacher.
