Overview

Kids today are connected 24/7, which makes them extremely vulnerable to potential online threats. While there are kids who understand how important it is to use technology wisely, far too many do not follow precautions when using technology. From reading threads that bully and belittle other kids to actively participating in bullying activities, kids' behavior towards each other is far different from face- to- face behavior. Join Dr. Michelle Cheasty-Christ as she discusses the new "crimes" kids are committing- without even realizing it. She will explore different strategies for dealing with these new teen bullies, as well as ways to deal with the new view of bullying. In addition to explaining how you can give students tools to deal with these encounters, Michelle will share different activities for teaching cyber ethics and keeping kids safe in cyberspace.
