Do your students sometimes have difficulty separating fact from fiction and distinguishing good sites from bad on the Internet? An important 21st century skill is information literacy, the ability to find, evaluate, and use information effectively and ethically. While the Internet puts a vast amount of information at our fingertips, the amount of information can make finding the right information challenging.

In this webinar, join Howie DiBlasi as he shows how you can guide students through the research process and help them to develop essential critical evaluation and thinking skills. Among other skills, he will cover how to search effectively, read for information, evaluate information, and determine fake information and page authorship. He will also share advanced searching techniques that allow students to find better sites and specific information.

Excellent ideas to help students in the process of research and critical thinking.
This was a great webinar! I enjoyed the presentation and delivery. We have to look carefully and think critically! Modeling by example is the way to go. Thank you so many of the websites looked credible, however with careful scrutiny, we saw they were not. This is so important in our world today. We must not take everything we see as real but, must look deeper and see it for what it is.

I enjoyed the list of alternative search engines. In the past, we just used the databases that already had the previewed material on it. I think, if done right, our citizens will be better equipped to sift through all the cyber garbage and find some really solid sources.
