A student or teacher's gender is not always easily defined as male or female. With the growing level of awareness surrounding gender in our classrooms, how can we better equip ourselves to understand and meet the needs of all our students, including those who may be transgender or gender nonconformists? Join Megan Fuciarelli as she addresses this question and explores how gender issues impact you and your students. She will also share definitions and resources to help you dive deeper into the concept of gender. Come enhance your understanding of the students you serve and walk away with resources to help unite your student population.

There are two genders. Male and female. True, there are many ways a female may want to express her femininity just as there are many ways a male may want to express his masculinity. To say that there are more than two genders is not doing a good service to children who are experiencing confusion.
This is so needed! Iím the advisor for my schoolís GSA, and I am still learning. Thereís a lot of resistance among older teachers, but I believe it costs you nothing to call a child by a different name if it helps them feel better about themselves. This one should be required viewing!
Thought-provoking information!
