Overview

Whenever students create digital projects with mobile devices, the final products from each student have the potential to vary wildly and be uniquely representative of that student's knowledge. And it's no different when using Chromebooks and multiple Chrome apps – "smashing" the apps to create a digital product can lead to extraordinary learning artifacts. Each student has the potential to design, create, share and publish something entirely new. Join Naomi Harm as she shares how Chrome app smashing also allows for students to demonstrate their understanding, reflect on a process, and envision creating a learning artifact that was previously inconceivable. She will discuss how it can help students take ownership of their learning process, develop technology fluency, and identify the best possible means to "show what they know." When there are no limitations to what can be created with the available tools, then there are no limitations to how students can demonstrate their growth as learners.
