Overview
The Ramayana is an ancient sanskrit epic and it tells the the story of a prince, Rama of Ayodhya, whose wife Sita is abducted by the demon king of lanka, Ravana. Rama is the hero of this tale and he is portrayed as an incarnation of the god Vishnu. He is the eldest and the favourite son of the King of Ayodhya, Dasaratha. The Ramayana follows the life of Rama and his wife Sita and his Brother Lakshmana and even today is a very important part of Indian mythology and culture..
