Tiffany Thompson

Tiffany Thompson is the CEO of Digital Scholars Consulting, an educational technology consulting company focusing on helping schools develop 21st century teachers and students. She is an Instructional Technology Specialist with over 18 years in the education field, including experience as a classroom teacher, technology coordinator, trainer, and college instructor. After teaching elementary school in Baltimore City for years, she moved to Japan where she gained a love for technology. She currently consults and trains nationally on instructional technology and facilitates online workshops for Maryland State Department of Education and teaches at McDaniel College.

Tiffany has a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education, a Master's Degree in Education with a focus on IT, and an Administration and Supervision certificate from Maryland State Department of Education. She is also a Microsoft Master Trainer, Surface Expert and Innovative Educator Expert. Her philosophy is, "To improve rigor, relevance, engagement and success in the classroom, teachers must become proficient and comfortable in using technology to create authentic learning tasks that includes all learners and extend students' personal limits and potential."

If you weren't in education, what do you think you'd be doing and why?

I would be a travel agent or traveling blogger. I love to travel and explore new places, people and culture.

When you were a kid, you wanted to be a ______? Why?

I wanted to be a doctor so that I could save lives especially babies.

What's your idea of happiness?

Enjoying the now. Life is short so we shouldn’t focus on what could’ve been or what might be. Stand in your joy now.

If you could live anywhere other than where you are, it would be:

Any warm climate near or on the beach. I would love to live in California or South America or even Africa.
