Lisa Dabbs has an extensive educational background as a school principal, federal project director, teacher, and adjunct professor. She holds a BA in Child Development and an M.Ed in Educational Administration. Lisa is an educational and social media consultant, author, blogger, and speaker. Her passion to support and mentor new and pre-service teachers led her to found New Teacher Chat #ntchat on Twitter in 2010.
Lisa has served as a Blogger for many education organizations including at EdweekTeacher, Edutopia.org, ViewSonic and Insight Advance. She has also served as part of the Social Media Team at Edutopia, ThinkWrite and Unlocking Time. She has worked as the CA Community Manager at Remind and with Amazon Education. Lisa’s book "Standing in the Gap: Empowering New Teachers through Connected Resources" is part of the Connected Educator Series and was inspired by her work on #ntchat. Recently Lisa was elected as a Trustee on the board of the East Whittier City School District and is excited about this new role to serve children and teachers in her community.
