Dr. Katie Thompson currently serves as a STEM School Improvement Specialist at West Georgia RESA. She received her masters and specialist in Elementary Education from Troy University and her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Liberty University, while researching the topic
Student Mobility and Academic Achievement.
Katie has taught at the elementary level, teaching both primary grades and upper elementary math and has served as an Assistant Principal/Instructional Specialist at Ethel Kight Magnet School in LaGrange, GA. Her speaking engagements include, but are not limited to, the Georgia Science Teachers Association (GSTA), National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), and Georgia Department of Education conferences. Katie’s expertise falls into many categories including STEM, best instructional practices, differentiation, and educational leadership.
