David Lopez

David Lopez began his second career as a classroom teacher and quickly realized that there were tools and technologies that were being underutilized in the classroom. He eventually began working in professional development for the eighth largest school district in the country, Hillsborough County Public Schools in Florida, where he implemented and oversaw several large projects including the professional development portion of the US Department of Education’s Enhancing Education through Technology Grant (EETT) and ARRA Funding for technology in the classrooms. Certified in MOODLE Administration David also co-administered the professional development implementation of MOODLE in the county.

David joined the Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Fellow team as a full-time Fellow, working to support the education initiatives within Microsoft. David believes that it is important to reach out to those teachers who are looking for simple tools to put their students on the right path to using these 21st century skills. The MIE training takes the time to demonstrate the use of these tools and gives real-world examples that immediately benefit the participants. In turn, the Partners in Learning Network provides ongoing support and demonstrates Microsoft’s commitment to supporting educators and students around the world.
