What's your idea of happiness?

Happiness is the feeling you get when you’ve worked hard to contribute positively to the success of others.

The teacher who had the biggest impact on me and why:

The teacher who had the biggest impact on me was actually my co-worker and mentor, Janet Barnstable, who taught me that good teaching, classroom management, and problem-solving were the most important skills necessary for effectively integrating technology as a tool for learning.

If you were dictator and had total control, tomorrow education would:

If I was the dictator who had total control, tomorrow education would be totally engaging and student centered. It would fully embrace the 4c’s: communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking and

If you could live anywhere other than where you are, it would be:

If I could live somewhere other than Chicago, I would live in a warm place where the weather isn’t so extreme, but I would miss the Chicago lifestyle.

The biggest problem with K-12 education is:

The biggest problem with K-12 education today is use of traditional one size fits all teaching methods that do not embrace innovative teaching methods that fit in the world we live in.

I've always wanted to visit:

I’ve always wanted to visit Australia.

What are your most treasured possessions?

My most treasured possession is my childhood dining room table that was passed down to me from my mother. I don’t actually treasure the object itself, I treasure the memories and the people who have sat around it with me throughout my life.

If you never had to worry about making money, what would you do?

If I didn’t have to worry about money I would travel, enjoy more time with my family and probably continue to teach a little.

What's the best piece of advice someone ever gave you?

The best piece of advice is a quote: Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing. - Theodore Roosevelt
