If you weren't in education, what do you think you'd be doing and why?
Re: Well, actually, me becoming a teacher was never in my plans. Since I was a child, my dad always wanted me to become a doctor (of course). Teaching came as a calling from God as I was searching a scholarship to pursue what I wanted to be at the time: Physical Engineer. So, I guess I would be doing that. However, I never regret becoming a teacher; engineering would have never given me this sense of changing the world education does.
When you were a kid, you wanted to be a ______? Why?
A doctor. Well, it was pretty much the career with a greater umph (I hope I said that correctly) at the time. But I believe it was mostly a sentiment fostered by my father. I was thinking on the money income only in fact; we were a poor family.
What's your idea of happiness?
Doing what you know is right, with the right motivation and doing what you like.
Twitter changed my life because:
Twitter changed my life because it allowed me to connect with passionate educators and has produced more PD in six months for me than in 5.5 years of university.
The teacher who had the biggest impact on me and why:
The teacher who had the biggest impact on me was my sixth grade teacher. I hardly remember what was that he taught and if he taught it well. But he left an impression on me as he was so human and caring. I´ll never forget him breaking in tears in front of us as he told us about this poor kid he was sponsoring. Because of him I realize that students will not remember what you taught them (formulas, procedures, etc.), but they will take with them any impact you had on their lives.
What are your most treasured possessions?
The ring and a picture of Frodo. Hahaha, kidding. I don´t think I have any treasured possession. At the time I have my wife and kids, which are, after God, what I love most. I say "at the time" since I am fully prepared when the time comes when my kids will fly away from home, even when there is a long time for that. My wife? I am hoping she dies very old before I do. I wouldn´t want to put her through the pain....am I sitll answering this question?
