Q & A with Valerie Verhunce

Do you have a motto you live by?

"Go for it! No matter how it ends, it was an experience." ~ Unknown It is important to take risks and make mistakes. I can only grow from my mistakes and experiences.

What's the best piece of advice someone ever gave you?

My first year of teaching was full of challenges and learning experiences. After a long day, I sat down with a colleague and cried. She reminded me that it is not always what students learn from me, but what they can learn from each other. From this day on, I focused on students collaborating, communicating and learning from each other. I never will forget her valuable advice and my instruction as greatly improved to meet the needs of all my learners.
