I must tell everyone how much I enjoyed Simple K12. The webinars were outstanding, the presenters very well informed and enthusiastic, a variety of topics were covered. As many of you know I'm a retired special education teacher. I taught for 30 years. One of my concerns as a special educator was being introduced to new materials and having time to expand my knowledge of latest information using technology. To me Simple K12 gave me that experience. There was plenty of information on technology and how to use it. I feel, if necessary, I can review these webinars to re-teach me how to use technology related to my experiences as a substitute teacher. Also of importance to me was the enthusiasm expressed by the teachers. They were well informed and gave great demonstrations on how to use technology. The other topic that "caught my eye", was UDL or Universal Design Lessonplans? As a special educator in an inclusive setting, I was constantly looking for ways to teach everyone clearly and effectively with one lesson. The other area of webinars I enjoyed was, "How to Teach Children Living in Poverty." I'm sure I don't have to tell you about the special challenges that we encounter when sometimes teaching our students. I don't know what you think, but when I was growing up we had two working parents in the home and they were to make ends meet, we weren't wealthy, but we got by. Today, our children face different challenges-single parents, no /low paying jobs, and living in apartment complexes with children that come from similar situations. The students need us and we as teachers need to be knowledgeable of out to reach out to our students on multiple levels in the classroom. To me, Simple K12 is the go-to website to increase professional knowledge in the changing classrooms where our services as teachers of vital to the present and upcoming generations.
Thank you all,
