I was reading this article and I thought in creating this post. What do you ask your students to bring for the year?

I am fortunate to work in a high school with ample resources. We have shared bins of supplies that are very useful. We have classroom sets of all sorts of items (scissors, graphing calculators, protractors, glue, etc.). Teachers are really good about collecting found items and donating them for the greater good. We also let each other know when things are on sale.

Most classroom teachers ask for the basics: kleenex, wipes liquid soap, glue sticks etc... If you are at a school where the parents are "able" to supply whatever you need, you are good to go. However, I have been at one school where parents actually got tired of the teachers "asking" for supplies and just basically, quit supplying. Dollar Tree is my BEST Friend when it comes to supplies. I go and buy in bulk when I can so that I do not run out.
