Do you know what suicide-contagion is? Have you ever heard of the term? If not, you are not alone.

Most people have not heard of the term because it is not a concept we talk enough about. Sadly, many school districts, urban areas, and rural areas experience this phenomenon.

Suicide-Contagion includes 3 important components:

1. It happens closely after a suicide of another person in a small sector or environment

2. It tends to happen in large numbers or groups

3. There is often a reason for the suicides. For example, a religious group holding certain beliefs about life, a group of teens who are being bullied, or teens in a remote rural area who are codependent.

Have you noticed the power of influence on any of your students when it comes to suicide?

Looking forward to your experiences.

Our school psychologist organizes a series of events dedicated to Suicide Contagion and Clusters. Teachers and parents were all invited to listen to the true stories of students who witnessed the acts of suicide and had to overcome the depression. Graduates were invited to share their experience and parents talked about the ways to eliminate such situations in a school environment.

Remember the old saying parents often used, "If all your friends jumped off a bridge, would you?" According to your book and webinar, the answer would be "Yes."
