Hi Colette... As we don't use iPads here, I vote for Animoto. The only problem I have is that I cannot create a school account. They don't accept "yahoo.com // gmail.com // Hotmail.com" domains. I explained that my school doesn't have an "edu" domain but they didn't understand so I have to keep using my free basic account and my students, too.

Smiles, Maria :)

While both of these will allow you to create movies there are some major differences. If you are just needing to create a 30 second, short movie without having to control every aspect of the movie, then Animoto would be the best. If you want to dive into more of the details of the movie and your movie needs to be longer then iMovie is the way to go. Another good thing about Animoto is that you can embed the videos on websites very easy because they give you the embed code for that. With iMovie you will have to have a place online to upload your movie and then, depending on the site you choose, you will either have to link to the movie or maybe the site will give you an embed code. There are many other differences but these are the ones that jump out at me.
