Overview

A child who develops good Social and Emotional Learning Skills (SEL) is more likely to better manage emotions, make responsible decisions, and be more successful in school and in life. But are you doing all you can to help your students cultivate these skills? In part 3 of this 4-part series, join Paul LeBuffe, as he shares how to best promote SEL skills - in and out of school - via direct instruction. He will discuss the importance of good SEL curricula and provide strategies you can use to improve attitudes, reduce emotional stress, decrease negative behaviors, and promote prosocial behaviors. Paul will also introduce the Devereux Student Strengths Assessment (DESSA) strategies for intervention and integration across curriculum and the school day.

Very interesting. I like the idea of all staff responding in a similar way and also agree that teacher SEL skills are very important. Not surprised that teachers make as many decisions as air traffic controllers!
