Overview

Using social media can be an effective way to communicate, share, and collaborate both for your students and for you. This toolkit contains webinars that discuss strategies and tips for using online social media sites and tools both in the classroom with students and as an effective means of professional development with colleagues. Discover why a PLN is important and how you can go about setting one up. Find out how to connect, learn, and share with others using tools such as Twitter, Google Plus, Google Groups, Diigo, and more. And, perhaps most importantly, you will learn how to keep from being overwhelmed by the vast amounts of information that flow through your social media accounts. In addition, you will see how to use YouTube to provide, produce, and share quality instructional content with your students and with other educators. You will also discover ways to use social media to safely communicate with both students and parents.

The Harding MS Team chose to use Edmodo over Moodle back in the 2010-11 school year during our ARRA Grant and have used it since then, The versatility of polls, assignments, privacy controls, library, communities, calendars, creating groups, App Store and mobile Edmodo and co-teaching/collaborating for students and/or teachers makes it a great learning platform!
